If you are interested in Japanese fashion and it happens to be that you are in Taipei, you can’t miss the next information!
Natsuki Shigeta, a Kimono/Yukata/Accessory designer in Tokyo and head & heart of the brand Tsukikageya, is doing a promotional event in Taiwan (more info here). Tsukikageya’s designs are at Wistore, a shop in the Zhongxiao Dunhua area, in Taipei until Dec. 2nd. and Natsuki will be in Taipei from Nov. 8-11 to visit Wistore. Tsukikageya combines traditional craftsmanship, with original patterns and quality fabrics. What’s for sure is that these designs leave no one indifferent. I hope you all like her creations as much as I do!
I had the pleasure to interview Natsuki to introduce you a little bit more about her and her brand:
Where are you from?
I am from Kanagawa prefecture, near Tokyo.
What’s your educational background?
I studied Architecture at Nihon University in Tokyo.
What does fashion mean to you?
It is my business. It is all I want to do because it makes me happy. And it gives me great opportunities like this time in Taipei!
Who is your favorite designer?
Where do you get your inspiration?
It just comes to me suddenly. Like when I am sitting on toilet or washing my hands.
Which are your favourite colours/fabrics/prints to work with?
I love neon pink, silk and my ¥10,000 pattern.
How long does it usually take you to construct a piece?
Anywhere from an hour to four years. Every piece is different.
Where can readers buy your creations?
Tsukikageya is in Taipei at Wistore until December the 2nd. Or at Tsukikageya’s online store.
Have you been in Taiwan before? If yes, what do you think about it?
This is my first time. Just arrived and I already like it here a lot! (so amazed by Xiaolongbao I’m eating right now!)
A lot in Taiwan I hope!
